Taren is an exceptional leader on his current team, referee in the community and is being raised to be an exceptional human being by his parents, Steve and Nicole. Taren seems to effortlessly go above and beyond and is a young man for kids to looks up to.

Throughout this season, Taren has shown leadership by seeking advice on how to best communicate with and support his teammates. He’s always looking for ways to maximize the influence and role he has as a veteran player and leader. He’s learned how to be helpful to his teammates in many ways and diversified his skills to play with new line mates. He strives be the best player he can in whatever position and role he is placed in. Taren has learned ways to become an effective player and leader outside of just putting up points.

Taren also spends a significant amount of time coaching and training our younger Prairie Storm players. He effortlessly engages with the kids by offering help and encouragement. He shows a genuine interest in them and it’s clear he wants them to do well and have fun. The young athletes were so thankful to have him there helping. By volunteering his time with younger players and having a willingness to learn, Taren has become one of the main coaches for an area summer camp and 7am fall/winter on-ice training group.

Congratulations Taren on being named the 2024/2025 Adam Herold Merit Award recipient!
